I learned how to do this when I was employed as a diesel mechanic on a large farm. For the RVer new terminology can make a little "confusion. To clarify things would I like to some common RV terms that you provide during your RVing experiences encounter.

D

Deep Cycle Battery - Often referred to as the auxiliary battery (s) or battery is the power of a 12-volt DC devices and Accessories used in the RV. Unlike an automotive starting battery is designed to hold a charge longer and repeated.
